New Intake?

In my opinion, my 2006 Acura RSX Type S needs a "tune up." I was thinking of something along the lines of getting an intake to increase performance. Through prior research, I have discovered the two possible types of intakes. The cold air intake and the short ram intake. The cold air intake has a higher power gain, but also runs the risk of washing water into the engine of the car which could possibly damage it. I think that I am going to probably go with the cold air intake anyways and just get a by pass valve to prevent the hydro lock.
