Acura RSX Type S

I have a 2006 Acura RSX Type S. I am looking to get some sort of upgrade on it. (exhaust, intake, etc) Anyone have any suggestions on what would give me the best increase in performance?

For a first upgrade I would definitely recommend an intake of some sort. Now you got a choice of either: Short Ram Intake (sri)or Cold Air Intake (cai). Both have advantages and disadvatages.

The cai has a slighly more power increase because it brings in more cold air than the sri and it can give you better gas mileage. However it has the risk of hydro lock, water getting into the engine= new engine needed. They do sell some that have Air by pass valve that prevents this.

The sri is less cold air, meaning a little less power, but no worry of hydro lock. And it is cheaper overall price.

I would go with the cai with the air by pass valve. Try to go with brands AEM or Ingen, both are well known.

Try to look around for reveiws on the internet for both intakes to get some feedback.

Hey Rj,well if you are looking for an upgrade I would recommend getting an exhaust first mainly because it gives a substantial horsepower gain and sounds really cool. However, if you get an intake first then the exhaust the sound of your exhaust will chnage to sound like it has more power. Personally though I'd get the exhaust first then the intake. The exhaust can run you anywhere from $300-1000. It all dpends o nthe brand you get and how nice of an exhaust it is.
